Acceptable Use and Honor Policies:
Acceptable Use Policy Purpose: The College of Business Administration Portfolio Community provides the ability for students to post examples of work for private collection, individual and program assessment, and public display. The system also enables faculty to collect and distribute information relevant to their work at the University. In addition, the system allows members outside of the immediate College of Business Administration community, such as alumni, prospective students, prospective employers, and members of the general public to gain authenticated access to a variety of materials identified by their owners for public consumption. Portfolio Access Accounts: Portfolio access accounts are available to students, faculty, staff, alumni, prospective employers, prospective students and members of the general public. These accounts provide various levels of access to the system depending on the type of account that has been created for any given user. Privacy/Monitoring: Traffic on the Portfolio Community system, including loads on the servers that run the system, will be monitored by system personnel. Detailed audits by the Portfolio Community System Administrator will occur regularly to ensure there is compliance with the unacceptable use policy, the Honor Code, and copyright notices. Acceptable Use: People using the College of Business Administration Portfolio Community will be expected to abide by the following rules: All illegal activities are prohibited. Prohibited activities include but are not limited to distributing copyrighted material such as software, text or images in ways prohibited by the copyright holder, breaking into computers or computer accounts that you are not authorized to use, and monitoring network traffic in order to obtain passwords or other private information. Persons found to be using the Portfolio Community for illegal activities may have their access privileges revoked. Any evidence of illegal use of the system will be turned over to the appropriate authorities. All commercial activities other than College of Business Administration business are prohibited. Specifically, operation of a business through the network, and sale of computing resources are prohibited. Persons found to be using the Portfolio Community system for commercial activities other than College of Business Administration business will have their access privileges revoked. Logging in under another users account and disguising or falsifying message sources is prohibited. Persons who log in as someone else for the purpose of misrepresenting their identity, and persons who attempt to mislead, defraud or harass others by disguising or falsifying sources of communications will have their access privileges revoked. Interfering with legitimate use of the Portfolio Community by others is prohibited. For example, activities such as using packet sniffers to monitor network communications, harassing other users of the network, damaging other peoples files, propagating chain electronic letters, sending junk email, and posting articles to multiple inappropriate discussion groups are prohibited. Persons found to be interfering with legitimate use of network resources by other will may have their network access privileges revoked. Any and all forms of academic dishonesty are prohibited. Any acts of academic dishonesty including but not limited to activities such as falsifying examinations, submitting others work as ones own, misrepresenting group project work, and plagiarism will be turned over to the appropriate office within the University for possible disciplinary action. ----------------------------
